About John Padley:

John Padley has over twenty years' experience as a Director of Music in leading UK Independent Schools and has a wide range of experience recruiting students for music scholarships especially in Asia where he is now based in Hong Kong.

I have been teaching in the UK Independent sector for 28 years at schools such as Sherborne, Wellington College, Woldingham and latterly Queen Anne's, Caversham, and for 20 of these years, I have been a Director of Music. As a result, I have wide experience of music in UK Independent Schools and the music scholarship and UCAS application process.Over the years, I have been able to help students gain places at Cambridge, Oxford, Durham and Berklee universities. Part of my role in the last 10 years, was visiting Hong Kong and Asia to recruit music scholars so I know the region well. At Queen Anne's, I developed the music facilties and helped create a modern and top-quality music department. I perform regularly as an organist and conductor in London, Paris and Hong Kong and have been an examiner for GCSE and A Level Music. In 2016 I was President of the Music Teacher's Association the oldest Music Association in the world and dedicated to supporting music education and teachers.
